Description

Considers film history and the relations between film and history as well as pertinent theoretical approaches to historiography. Critical readings of exemplary film historical studies and careful scrutiny of films both in and as history.

Course Notes

Required of all Film and Visual Studies graduate students, as well as graduate students intending to declare a secondary field in Film and Visual Studies.

Class Notes

This course has mandatory weekly film screenings on Tuesdays from 1 to 3 pm.
